The book is intended to be used in a one-semester course covering modern physics for students who have already had basic physics and calculus courses. The balance of the book leans more toward ideas than toward experimental methods and practical applications because the beginning student is better served by a conceptual framework than by a mass. The Physics Hypertextbook is a reaction to the three big problems with textbooks: lack of writer's voice, layouts that reduce readability, and outdated economics. It is a work in progress. Some parts of this book are essentially finished. Some parts are comically underdone. I work on this project in my spare time. You are welcome to use this website as an educational or entertainment tool.
